Drywood termites establish themselves in voids and in hardwood. If the swarmers are subterranean termites, it means you have a severe infestation. Subterranean termites tend to create ground nests. When swarmers exit a ground nest, they usually do it outside, unless the nest is very close, or underneath a home. A nest that is close to your home will allow subterranean termites to do more damage in a shorter amount of time.
