Mosquito Treatments For Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, California, Alabama, & Minnesota

There aren't many things that everyone can agree on these days, but at White Knight Pest Control, we can think of one: nobody likes mosquitoes. As far as pests go, mosquitoes are easily one of the most annoying. If you go out on a warm evening, it's likely that you'll soon have a swarm of hungry mosquitoes buzzing around your head and covering you in itchy bites. While these tiny pests may not infest your house, they can make spending time out in your Salt Lake City area yard a living nightmare.

Few people can withstand their attacks and would rather retreat to the safety of their homes than sit around outside being eaten alive. However, ruining your time outdoors is only one of the problems caused by mosquitoes. When it comes to mosquitoes, the threats that they pose to your health are what make mosquitoes dangerous pests.

Worldwide, they are the deadliest pest, responsible for over one million deaths each year. Although the chance of dying in the U.S. from a mosquito-borne disease is quite low, it's still possible to contract a serious illness from a mosquito bite. Mosquitoes are known transmitters of the West Nile virus, Zika virus, malaria, dengue fever, and more.

To make your yard a pleasant place to spend time while also reducing the risk of contracting a serious illness, you need mosquito control from White Knight Pest Control. We've designed our two-step system to drastically reduce the mosquito populations around your property, allowing you to get back outside to do the things you love.

Mosquito Control From White Knight Pest Control

Step 1: Eliminate Breeding Sites

The first step in any mosquito control effort is to find and eliminate the mosquito breeding sites from your yard. Mosquitoes breed in standing water, especially if it stands for around seven days. Adult mosquitoes lay their eggs in the standing water, and their young develop in the water before emerging as adults to bite.

Mosquito breeding sites can be destroyed by draining, dumping, or filling them.

  • Dump water from buckets, flower pot dishes, tarps, and wheelbarrows. If possible, turn these items over or cover them so they can't fill with water.
  • Fill holes and low areas around your yard with sand or gravel.
  • Check gutters to make sure they're not clogged.

When your White Knight Pest Control technician comes out for your mosquito control service, the first thing they will do is inspect any areas conducive to mosquito breeding. If there are areas where standing water is not easily dumped, filled, or drained such as a small pond, we'll treat the water with a mosquito insecticide. Treating these breeding sites prevents mosquito larvae from growing into adults and biting you and your family members, helping to reduce mosquito threats.

Step 2: Monthly Mosquito Treatments

After eliminating breeding sites around your property, we will apply a mosquito treatment. The products we use are applied using a professional backpack blower that blows a fine mist several yards up in the air and through dense foliage, grass, shrubs, and any areas with high mosquito populations. This treatment provides residual protection and suppresses mosquito activity for up to 30 days.

It is important to note that it can be difficult to keep any flying insect population under control because these types of pests can fly from location to location at any given time. Mosquitoes tend to live and bite within 200-300 yards of their breeding sites. For this reason, we encourage a monthly mosquito service to keep the mosquito population in your yard to a minimum. This way, even if a mosquito travels from a neighboring yard, it can land on a treated area and die soon after.

We encourage customers who need mosquito control to have our strong and effective mosquito service performed on a monthly basis from April through October. This frequency will prevent mosquitoes from reproducing and minimize activity if mosquitoes are traveling from neighboring yards.
